When Winter Weather Strikes:
How to Know if
City Offices Are Open |
|
How do you know when bad weather has forced City offices to close? Tune in to your local TV and radio stations.
The City of Burleson and the Burleson Independent School District work together in announcing bad weather closings, with the help of Metroplex TV and radio stations. If the TV and radio stations show that BISD schools are closed, municipal offices are also closed.
Essential personnel, which includes police, firefighters, and public works personnel, will be working to keep streets and property safe even when the weather turns bad. In most cases, residential trash will still be picked up unless the streets are too treacherous to travel. If the sanitation workers can not pick up the trash due to weather, it will be picked up on the next scheduled collection day.
To find out if your City offices and buildings are closed, listen to the local TV and radio stations. If the BISD is closed, City offices are closed. The City closings will be listed on the media outlets’ web sites.
