I-35W Service Roads to be Repaved

TxDOT will be repaving the I-35W service roads from FM 917 south to CR 604 on both sides of the highway beginning 9-7-10. During construction activities traffic will be reduced to one lane and be flagged around the construction area. The work is scheduled for completion on or before March 25, 2011.

The construction location map shows the portion of the project that is within the city limits of Burleson.

Elk Drive and SH 174 Signal

The new section of Elk Dr. (across SH 174 from Burleson High School) is open and the signal is in operation.

The City of Burleson is working on two road construction projects:

• Alsbury Boulevard, Edgehill Road to Summercrest Boulevard - complete reconstruction of Alsbury Boulevard, between Edgehill Road and Summercrest Boulevard.. The project also includes a signal at Summercrest and Alsbury.
  • Began Oct. 26, 2009 -is substantially complete with the exception of sidewalk installaton which is underway.
• Arnold Avenue Extension
  • Began in November 2009; expected to be substantially complete by July 2010.
  • The project includes a signalized in/out alternative to Miles Avenue. It adds circulation between Arnold Avenue and Hidden Creek Parkway. The extension of Arnold Avenue will provide alternative access to/from Hidden Creek Parkway, Chisenhall Park and the future Dillmore Park and trails.
