Communications dispatches all Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services in the city using computer-aided dispatching. The City of
Burleson is in the Tarrant County 9-1-1 district and has the enhanced 9-1-1 System. Communications is staffed with one Communications Supervisor, one Lead Telecommunications Operator, and nine Telecommunications Operators
The Communications Section is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Answering and handling all emergency and non-emergency requests for Police, Fire, and EMS services via enhanced 911, telephone, teletype, TDD, radio, and walk-ins; and dispatching uniform services when necessary.

- Entry and documentation of all call for service requests and information into CAD system.
- Monitors and maintains status of assigned public safety personnel.
- Inquires, receives, interprets, verifies, and disseminates information from national, state, and local law enforcement computer networks
- Handling, preparing, and maintaining various records, paperwork, and reports.
- Monitoring of prisoners and police facility thru video/audio monitors.
- Activation of civil defense equipment as a warning to citizens at the direction of the Fire Marshall or the Officer in Charge.
