Three seats are on the May 9, 2009 ballot. They include Place 1, Place 3, and Place 5. If elected, candidates serve two-year terms.
Burleson City Council candidate packets and applications are available at Burleson City Hall, 141 W. Renfro St. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as at the Monday, February 16, and Monday, March 2, Burleson City Council meetings. Burleson City Council meetings begin at 7 p.m. at Burleson City Hall.
The first day to file for a place on the ballot is Monday, February 9. Applications must be filed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the city secretary’s office at city hall. Notary services will be available at city hall for council candidate applications.
- The last day to file for a place on the ballot is 5 p.m. on Monday, March 9.
- The last day to file as a write-in candidate is 5 p.m. on Monday, March 16.
- The last day for a candidate to withdraw a name from the ballot is Tuesday, March 17.
Early voting starts Monday, April 27, and ends Tuesday, May 5. Voting will be done in the council chambers at Burleson City Hall.
- Those who reside inside the city limits who want to vote in the May 9 election must register to vote by Thursday, April 9. Voter registration cards will be available at Burleson City Hall.
- Voter registration cards must be submitted to the elections administration office in the resident’s county of residence.
