Department Organization
Texas Statutes, including Chapter 252 of the Local Government Code, govern the City of Burleson purchasing procedures. Texas courts' interpretations of those codes are the ultimate authority on the validity of purchasing procedures.
The purchasing agent is charged with purchasing supplies, materials and equipment, contracting for all repairs to property, and supervising all purchases made through competitive bids. The purchasing agent is responsible for assuring fair and equitable treatment to all vendors without regard to political pressure.
Vendor Participant Information and Bid Opportunities
As a local government, the City of Burleson encourages competition among potential vendors to obtain quality goods and services at the best prices available, to maximize tax dollars.
Doing business with the City of Burleson just got easier. Beginning January 2, 2007 vendors will have the ability to register on line through NovusVendor. This is a web-based service that allows vendors to register to do business with the City through an easy-to-use, NO COST online form. Follow this Vendor Registration link to complete the registration process.
Once registered, vendors can manage their own profiles and update commodity codes, insurance information or any other critical profile data. When bids are posted, vendors matching that commodity code profile will automatically be notified of the bid so they can download it from the City’s website.
