Community Skateboard Park - 380 N.W. Tarrant Avenue in Burleson
The Skateboard Park is a partnership between St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the City of Burleson. The City of Burleson maintains all skate park equipment, which has been
constructed on St. Matthew's property, and the church staffs the park,
providing the adult supervision the community had requested. The park is a
fenced, safe facility and all skaters wishing to use the park will have to show
a church-issued I.D. card and wear protective gear. Skaters under the age of 18
will need their parents' approval to be issued a park I.D. The identification
cards will help the staff supervisors know who is in the park and make skaters
more accountable for following the park's posted rules.

-
Hours: Weekdays 4-6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday 1-6 p.m.
-
I.D. cards: mandatory to skate; one-time fee of $5; can be obtained at the ARC facility at St. Matthew church; parental permission required for those under 18.
-
All safety gear will be required for skaters inside the fenced area of the park.

Make reservations to ensure use of City park pavilions.
As the temperatures start to take a dip, interest in using the City of Burleson’s park pavilions is on the rise, especially when spring comes around.
Reservations are not required to use the pavilions at Warren Park on Johnson Avenue, Chisenhall Park off Hidden Creek Parkway, or the new Mistletoe Park on McAlister Road, but it is recommended. Reservations are $5 an hour for residents and $10 an hour for non-residents. Call the City’s park and recreation department at 817-295-8168 to ask about reservations. The reservation is not actually valid until the fee is paid.
To make use of your reservation, simply carry a copy of the reservation slip to the park in case someone else is using the pavilion during the specified time. The park and recreation department currently does not use signs to signify that the pavilion is reserved. If another party is using the pavilion during the reserved time, call the community center at 817-295-8168, or, if it is during hours that the center is closed, call the Burleson Police Department at 817-447-5300.
Park and recreation director Peter Krause said he has heard of very few problems with people complying with pre-paid reservations. Reservations are scheduled approximately 30 minutes apart.
Rentals may be more popular this year thanks to the transformation of Warren Park, which has just been completed. Within the last 10 years, approximately $200,000 in renovations have been made, including razing the old restroom facility and building a new one.
The new pavilion has been built and a new ramp to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act was added for access to the new structure at Warren Park. The parking lot was repaired and the two tennis courts were improved. Lighting at the pavilion was just added this summer. Warren Park also includes two basketball courts, and in-line hockey court, and Town Creek.
The pavilion at Chisenhall Park will not be available by May of 2008, when the City hopes to break ground on the transformation of Chisenhall Park from a passive park into a park that will become home to the Burleson Youth Association’s softball and baseball fields, as well as a football field and play areas. A pavilion and playground are included in the plans for the new Chisenhall Park.
Mistletoe Park includes: a half-mile exercise trail with four exercise stations, picnic pavilion and a play area. The back half of the seven-acre park is available for open play.
Money for the improvements as well as the addition of new parks was made possible in the 2006-2007budget year, thanks to money received through the park improvement natural gas fund.
