The mission of the Building Inspection Division is to provide professional, courteous customer service while contributing to the orderly growth, development and maintenance of our community by applying the highest standards of health, safety and construction industry practices. The enforcement of construction codes and zoning ordinances is accomplished through plan review, permit issuance and construction inspection.

Fence Permits

Fence permits are required for any new fence or when a fence is moved from its original location. A permit may be obtained through the Building Permits Department located in City Hall at 141 W. Renfro.

Storage Building Permits

All storage buildings, whether affixed to a foundation or on skids, must be permitted. Storage Building Permits may be obtained through the Building Permits Department located in City Hall at 141 W. Renfro.

Carport/Patio Cover Permits

Carports must be permitted to ensure proper location. Carport/Patio permits and information concerning the construction of carports and patio covers may be obtained by contacting the Building Permit Department located in City Hall at 141 W. Renfro.

Sign Permits

No signs of any type (with the exception of warning or construction signs) may be posted on any utility pole or in any public street right-of-ways. Certain signs require a permit. A copy of the sign ordinance can be viewed at City Hall, 141 W. Renfro.

Garage Sale Permits

City of Burleson Ordinance B-745 and Amendment to Ord. B-745 (A0308)requires a permit for a garage sale. Please see the Garage Sales page of this website for all the requirements and to find the location of all permitted garage sales for the current week.

Permits may be purchased at City Hall - Community Development Office.
