The City’s water supply and wastewater treatment is purchased from the City of Fort Worth. Treated surface water is piped to our pump station and then distributed to each residence. Wastewater is piped back to the City of Fort Worth’s Village Creek Sewage Treatment Plant.

Water samples are collected and tested each month from thirty different sampling sites throughout the City to insure safe drinking water is being provided to our citizens. See the 2008 Drinking Water Quality Report. (Spanish version)

As a wholesale water customer of the City of Fort Worth, Burleson is required to implement a Water Conservation Plan and a Drought Contingency / Emergency Water Management Plan.. This program provides for the voluntary and mandatory actions to be put into effect to temporarily reduce the demand place upon the City’s water supply system during a water shortage emergency. Water conservation is very important. Useful information and conservation tips are distributed to the public each year to educate citizens and will be provided upon request.

The City of Burleson is operating under the stage 2 - mandatory water conservation program.
