Q. How do I do business with the City of Burleson?
The City of Burleson utililzes Public Purchase, an automated vendor registration software, that will allow access to bids through this site. You can now register to do business through Public Purchase.
Q. Is there a cost to the vendor to register through Public Purchase?
There is absolutely no cost to the vendor to register to do business with the City of Burleson through Public Purchase. The only requirement is the vendor is responsible for maintaining the correct information in the system.
Q. Will it be necessary to register with Public Purchase to do business with the City of Burleson?
Supplier participation in the Public Purchase system is not a necessary requirement for doing business with the City of Burleson. It will be the quickest and most efficient means for notification of bid opportunities.
Bid notices will still be advertised:
- On the bulletin board located at Burleson City Hall, 141 W. Renfro
- In the Burleson Star Newspaper
- In the near future, on the City’s web site using a link to the Purchasing Division.
Vendors may also pick up a complete bid package free of charge (terms conditions, specifications, bid forms, etc.) in person from the Purchasing Manager at Burleson City Hall located at 141 West Renfro Street, Burleson, Texas..

Q. Do I include sales tax in a sealed bid or quotation for the city?
Price quotations must include the cost of the merchandise and all other costs associated with acquiring the merchandise such as delivery charges, installation charges, and insurance, if applicable. Do not include sales tax in price quotations. The City of Burleson is a tax-exempt organization. A tax-exempt certificate may be obtained from Accounts Payable in the Finance Department, 817-426-9653
Q. What is a cooperative purchasing program?
A cooperative purchasing program allows the City of Burleson to purchase goods and services from large government contracts that have already been duly bid and awarded by the sponsoring agency that created the cooperative purchasing program. State law allows municipalities and other government organizations to participate in such programs (see Section 271, Subchapter F of the Local Government Code).
