COURT APPEARANCE

The Burleson Municipal Court of Record offers scheduled court sessions. You must be scheduled on that specific docket and date in order to be seen. Reschedules will NOT be granted on the same day that you are scheduled for court, unless you post a cash bond. If you do not appear then a warrant and a failure to appear charge will be issued.

Entering an Appearance

After receiving a citation, you have twenty-two (22) calendar days to enter an appearance with the Court in writing or in person. Telephone calls are NOT an appearance.

Failure to Appear

Failure to appear or answer on the citation within this 22-day period may result in a warrant for your arrest being issued. A $50 fee is incurred on each offense when a warrant is issued. Although not required by law, the Court may notify you by mail when a warrant for your arrest has been issued. When issuing an arrest warrant for Class C misdemeanor offenses, the relevant information is added to the State's criminal database. (see Resolving Warrants)

Be advised that you are subject to arrest by any agency confirming the warrant for your arrest. An arrest warrant will remain active until the fines and fees have been paid or a bond has been posted.
