Paw Pals Animal Care Academy

Burleson Animal Services is proud to offer the Paw Pals Animal Care Academy, a free educational program for area youth interested in animal welfare. This academy is on Saturdays, in June 2016, including June 4, 11, 18 and 25.

The shelter is hosting the academy for students who are entering the 6th grade in the 2016/2017 school year. The class is limited to 15 students who must either live in Burleson or attend school in Burleson. 
Course Details
This is a free 4-week course. Class is 90 minutes, noon to 1:30 p.m. The sessions include:
  • Bite prevention/responsible pet ownership/veterinary care (Dr. See, veterinarian, Burleson Small Animal Clinic); 
  • Rebecca Gonzales from the Fort Worth Zoo will talk about what it takes to run the nationally ranked zoo; 
  • Kim Meek from the Humane Society of North Texas will bring some farm animals by to demonstrate how to care for them.
  • Graduation! (certificates, goody bags, pictures and snacks)
