2013 Burleson Fire Department Employee Awards (PDF)
Lt. Duane Wines, Firefighter Robert Clarkin and Engineer Robert Schoonover earned the top awards. Deputy Chief of Operations Tom Foster was recognized for his 20 years of service to the Burleson Fire Department. Earning 15 year service awards were Fire Chief Gary Wisdom and Deputy Chief Brent Batla.
2012 Burleson Fire Department Awards
The Burleson Fire Department’s highest honors went to Lt. Casey Davis - Fire Officer of the Year - and Firefighter Matt Moseley - Firefighter of the Year. The firefighters on C shift at Station 1 earned the Busiest Shift award with 633 calls out of the department’s 3,268 calls in 2012. More than 20 firefighters were recognized for earning certifications in 2012.
2011 Burleson Fire Department Awards
Lt. Jeremiah Lozier took home the 2011 Fire Officer of the Year award and Firefighter Kevin Hunter earned the 2011 Firefighter of the Year honors. Life Saving awards went to Lt. Lozier; firefighters Bill Buchanan, Dallas Fowler, and Jules Knight; Engineer Matt Moseley; Battalion Chief Tom Foster; lieutenants Claude Scally and Steve Burchette; Fire Marshal Stacy Singleton; and Fire Investigator David Butler.
2010 Burleson Fire Department Awards
Lt. Mike Jones earned Fire Officer of the Year and Firefighter Rob Moore earned the Fire Chief’s Award. Stacy Singleton, Steve Haas, and Dave Tomlinson, were presented with fire axes for their 26, 12 and 9 years, respectively, as volunteer firefighters with the department. Volunteer firefighter service plaques were awarded to Korrey Alexander for 5 years and to Bill Warner and Brandon Sellers for four years each. The volunteer program was phased out in October 2010.
2009 Burleson Fire Department Awards
Taking the 2009 Fire Officer of the Year honors was Lt. Claude Scally. Firefighter Jeff Hart earned Rookie of the Year honors. The firefighter with the most career training was rookie David Franks with 214. The volunteer firefighter with the most training hours was Dave Tomlinson with 31 hours.
