Cosplayers

Chaks Productions

Charles Poynter (a.k.a. Chaks Productions) started his cosplay career in 2014. Inspired by the work of others, he took the plunge and created his first costume for a convention: Emmet from the LEGO movie for Dallas Comic Con. There he took home the award for Best Craftsmanship.

He followed up with Robin in 2015 and took home the award for Best Craftsmanship again. Later that year, he became a member of the judging panel at Fan Expo Dallas and has been a familiar face at numerous conventions and charity events across north Texas and was a featured guest at BAMFest 2016.

Featuring a unique cast of cosplay characters, Charles pushes himself with each creation, trying to capture every detail of each character he portrays.

A strong proponent of "cosplay without discrimination", he encourages cosplayers to costume up, have fun and show their support for the hobby and others who participate in it.

Corcid Cosplay

Corcid Cosplay has been cosplaying for 3 years and loves being a part of the cosplayer community. Her favorite character is Harley Quinn, who was also her first cosplay.

Since then, she has crafted and worn twenty variant Harley Quinn costumes and gone on to dress as other characters from her favorite comics, video games and movies.

Some of her costumes include Supergirl, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, Black Canary (both the original and Bombshells versions), Cinderella, Scarlet Witch, the Wii Fit Trainer, D.Va from Overwatch and Alexstrasza from World of Warcraft.

She thinks the best parts of cosplaying – apart from getting to bring her favorite characters to life – is the positivity it brings and the community spirit of her fellow hobbyists.

Frostbite Cosplay

Aspen and Bryce Eden started cosplaying in 2014 at Project: A-Kon 25, dressed as Ursula from Disney's The Little Mermaid and Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2. After having a great time at that event, they decided to jump in with both feet and started work on a 14' long Toothless quad suit.

After nearly a year of work and countless learning experiences Toothless and Ripster from Street Sharks were ready to go and debuted at FAN EXPO Dallas 2015. By A-Kon 26 they had assembled a second Street Shark, a full set of Attack on Titan 3DM gear, Hiccup from How to Train Your DragonCarmen Sandiego, and Waldo from Where's Waldo? - all built for family from out of town so they could join them in costume at the convention.

Now thoroughly hooked on cosplay, they entered their first cosplay contest at SCG a few months later with Toothless winning third place. Since then they have been bringing all manner of fantastic characters to life. At present they have completed 31 full builds including Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, The Great and Powerful Trixie from My Little Pony, Samus Aran from Metroid, Gyarados from Pokémon and many others. Recently, their Overwatch cosplays of Reinhardt and Mei were awarded Best in Show at Fan Expo Dallas 2017.
