New Resident Information

Establishing New Service
Residential:
In order to establish new service, the City of Burleson requires the following information to be presented in person at 141 West Renfro Street:
  • A completed water service application (pdf or fillable form)
  • A driver's license or state issued ID
  • A deposit of $135 or a letter of credit that states you had no late payments with a water or electric utility in the last 12 months of service with them
  • According to our Identity Theft Prevention Policy, we must verify that the person seeking to open the account matches the names on the lease agreement or deed
If you are not able to come in person, you can fax or email a completed and notarized water service application with a copy of your driver's license. You must call to verify all paperwork was received and to set up a time for service to be connected.

Commercial:
To establish commercial service, you must submit the following via fax or email:
  • A completed commercial water service application
  • A commercial water service agreement
  • A W-9
  • A security deposit. The amount is determined by the greater of the first 2 methods:
    • Meter size
    • 2 months average billing of a similar business but not lower than $135
    • The deposit can be waived with a good letter of credit that states you had no late payments with a water, electric or gas utility in the last 12 months of service with them
Connection of Water Service
To have water service connected, someone must be inside the residence or business to verify that no faucets have been left on to eliminate any water damage. If you are confident that no water has been left on and you are the owner of the residence or business you can sign a waiver and no one will have to be present at the time of connection. The waiver releases the City of Burleson from all responsibility should any water damage occur at the time of connection.
