Annual Events



  • Aqua Egg Hunt

    - The 2016 event is Saturday, March 19, 10 a.m.- 12 p.m., at the BRiCk, 550 N.W. Summercrest Blvd. Admission is $2. Pre-registration is recommended. Children will be hunting for plastic eggs in the BRiCk’s indoor pool. Children up to age 11 will be divided into four age groups for hunts in the play structure area and the lap pool. (View Photos)

    Bunny Daze Easter Egg Hunt

    - The 2016 event is Saturday, March 19, 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. The Easter egg hunt is at 1:30 p.m. The fun takes place at Hidden Creek Sports Complex, 295 E. Hidden Creek Pkwy. (next to the golf course). Bunny Daze is a free 2-hour event. Bring your children, camera and Easter baskets. There will be on-stage performances, carnival games, face painting, and more.   • Easter Egg Hunt at Russell Farm

    - The 2016 event is Saturday, March 26, at 11 a.m. Joey the Donkey and all his farm friends host a free Easter egg hunt at Russell Farm for children up to 4 years old. The farm is located at 405 W. CR 714. Joey poses for pictures, so bring your own camera and Easter baskets. The 30-acre Russell Farm was donated to the City in 2011. The grounds have several galleries containing wood sculptures by Charlie Boren and local artists, along with historical artifacts. (View Photos)
  • Vietnam Veterans Celebration

    - The 2016 event is Saturday, March 26, at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Plaza, 298 E. Renfro St. The Burleson Heritage Foundation and the City of Burleson host this celebration in honor of Vietnam Veterans Day. (View Photos)


  • Arbor Day Ceremony

    - The 2016 event is Friday, April 22, 10 a.m., at Stribling Elementary School, 1881 E. Renfro St. City staff will distribute tree seedlings on a first-come, first-served basis. (View Photos)


  • Hot Sounds of Summer Concert Series

    - The free 90-minute concerts start at 7:30 p.m. and take place on the City's stage, which is set up in Old Town in front of City Hall (124 W. Ellison St.) Come early and get some great food at the restaurants in Old Town or bring a picnic and lawn chairs.

    • June 3 - Poo Live Crew (classic rock variety show)
    • June 10 - Texas Flood (Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute band)
    • June 17 - M-80s (1980s retro rock)

  • 4th of July Celebration

    - Chisenhall Fields is the place to be on July 4! The free event kicks off with a 7:30 p.m. Independence Day Celebration concert followed by an amazing fireworks show, which is choreographed to music. The concert headliner is ESCAPE, a Journey tribute band
  • Christmas in July Craft Fair

    - The Burleson Senior Activity Center is hosting a craft fair on Saturday, July 16, 2016, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the center at 216 S.W. Johnson Ave. Shop for unique homemade crafts and gifts for your friends and relatives. If you are a crafter and you’re interested in selling your unique handmade items, call the Burleson Senior Activity Center at 817-295-6611.


  •  Founders Day  - Founders Day is hosted by the City of Burleson and the Burleson Heritage Foundation on the second Saturday of October. Heritage members dress in period costume for the daylong event which includes mock gunfights, staged shootouts, car show, arts and crafts, great food, and a variety of entertainment. 
  • Boo Bash - Free trick or treating for children from birth to 12 years old. The festivities take place in Old Town where children can participate in free games, bounce houses, and a costume parade while enjoying free candy, entertainment, and a Halloween story.



    Military Veteran Tribute

    - Honor the service and sacrifices of military veterans at this annual event. Veterans Memorial Park includes a fountain surrounded by bricks engraved with the names of local service members, a bronze eagle, Purple Heart memorial, the names of veterans from the Johnson County Veterans Monument, and a POW monument.


  •   Santa's Breakfast - The North Pole comes to Burleson! Come tell Santa your Christmas wishes while the elves cook up a breakfast of pancakes and sausage. Take pictures in the Winter Wonderland and make holiday crafts in Santa's workshop.
  •  Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting - The Burleson Rotary Club hosts the annual lighted Christmas parade followed by the City's tree lighting and fireworks show. The tree is outfitted with more than 10,000 lights, which will be turned on by Santa and his helpers. Singers and dancers entertain the crowd while Santa breaks away from the parade and makes his way to the City stage.
