Donations Needed

The Burleson Animal Shelter takes pride in being able to offer “comfort items” to every animal that comes through the door. It helps make their time in the shelter more pleasant and helps the staff learn more about the animals’ behavior, thus aiding in adoptions.

The shelter staff welcomes donations of the following items year-round.
  • Blankets
  • Bleach
  • Chew toys
  • Collars
  • Fabric Softener/Sheets
  • Flea and Tick Spray
  • Kong toys
  • Leashes
  • Paper Towels
  • Peanut butter
  • Rawhide chews
  • Tennis balls
These comfort items are particularly helpful during times of extreme weather conditions, when the animals are unable to spend as much time outside.

Donate
You can also donate money that is put in to an account that can be used to pay veterinarian bills for animals that are sick or injured. The animal shelter does not have a veterinarian on staff, but they do have a veterinarian who is available and will stop by the shelter to examine and treat sick or injured animals. Being able to provide that medical care to a lost pet gives the staff a chance to try to find the dog’s owner. Money that is donated can help save the lives of many animals.

For more information about donations, please call the Burleson Animal Shelter at 817-426-9283 or email them. The shelter, located at 775 SE John Jones Drive, is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
