The City of Burleson’s Citizens’ Annual Financial Report shows the community exactly how their tax dollars were spent last year. This report is the city’s version of a corporate annual report that discusses revenue and expenditures, condensed to a few pages that include information about the city’s workforce development, public safety initiatives and other financial information.
While the city’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is the ultimate in financial disclosure, the goal of the Citizens’ Financial Report is to put easy to understand financial information into the hands of every citizen.
“The Citizens' Financial Report takes information from the CAFR and condenses it to give citizens an overview of the city’s finances,” said Rhett Clark, finance director. “For anyone that wants a deeper understanding of the city’s budget the CAFR is available on the city’s website or you can contact the finance department directly.”
