[ARCHIVED] Russell Farm Art Center to host Texas Heritage Festival

Russell Farm Art Center is hosting a free festival to celebrate Russell Farm and Texas heritage. Texas Heritage Festival, sponsored by Burleson Heritage Foundation, will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. The festival kicks off with an Old Time Texas Country Dance from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10.

Dale Morris, Jr, Joey McKenzie and Gavin Kelso will be performing at the dance on Friday evening and dance instructors will be present to teach participants some country dance moves. The dance is free, but if you are interested in dinner from Hard Eight BBQ, the Friends of Russell Farm are selling tickets for $10 each. You can purchase tickets at Russell Farm, 405 W C.R. 714. BBQ tickets must be purchased in advance.

The entire family is then welcomed back for more fun on Saturday. Guests will enjoy food, music, general store, vendors, plow horses, hay rides and pioneer demonstrations. Admission and parking are free.
