Christina Staton, the City of Burleson's Employee of the Quarter, was nominated and selected for her exemplary customer service.
Christina was recognized for her dedicated work in the Marketing and Communications Department, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Christina has a strong work ethic,” states her nomination form. “Which has been further exemplified during an especially difficult time.”
Communicating with the community has never been more important than at a time such as now with the pandemic, and the schedule to get it done is open-ended because there is not a predictable schedule.
“Christina works behind the scenes to respond quickly to various communications needs, urgent posts and working late hours to respond on social media to questions,” states her nomination form.
Christina is described as a quick learner and self-starter. Her nomination form also describes her as “always conducting business with a smile, a friendly hello, and a willingness to always make you her biggest priority.”
Christina started with the City of Burleson in October 2018.
She was honored during the April 20, 2020, City Council meeting. The city's employee of the quarter award is based on an employee's efficiency, transparency, honesty, innovation and customer service, all of which make up the city's ethics statement.
