The City of Burleson’s marketing and communications team was honored to receive seven state awards, including three first-place TAMI awards and four Award of Excellence (2nd place) at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) conference in Round Rock on Sept. 1, 2021.
This year follows up a strong campaign in 2019, where the marketing and communications took home six awards at the TAMIO conference in Denton. (The 2020 conference was canceled due to COVID-19).
The awards recognize outstanding communication by Texas communities in various categories, including website, social media, video production, and publications. Judging is conducted by non-TAMIO members with expertise in communications and municipal government.
Burleson was presented with the following awards:
TAMI Awards (1st place)
- Best Plan or Campaign – Your Bullet, Your Responsibility
- Best Use of Photography – Snow Contest
- Communications Planning – Branding Burleson
Award of Excellence (2nd place)
A record-breaking 435 entries were submitted, from 83 different municipalities in Texas, for the 26 categories in this year’s competition.
