  5. POSTPONED - Trash Bash and Earth Day Celebration

    *POSTPONED - Check back at a later date for updated information* You can make a difference, and have a lot of fun doing it. Volunteers of all ages meet at Warren Park at 9 a.m. to get their trash bags and litter picker-uppers. Then they head out to remove litter and debris from retail corridors, waterways, drainage channels, streets, parks, and other public areas. Youth participants are enthusiastically welcomed but must have adult supervision. Following the cleanup, there will be pizza, a raffle, activities, booths and more. Read through the volunteer packet on the City website, http://bit.ly/TBvolunteer, then you can sign your group up online at http://bit.ly/TrashBashregistration, or call 817-426-9842 for more details. You must call by 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, to receive a cleanup location assignment. Come out, enjoy the camaraderie, and leave knowing you have made a difference!

  7. CANCELED - National Drug Take-Back Day

    April 25, 2020, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Wal-Mart parking lot

    This event has been canceled due to the coronavirus public health emergency. The Burleson Police Department is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. The event will be hosted at the Wal-Mart parking lot, 951 SW Wilshire Blvd. Residents may drop off unused, expired or unwanted medications, in both pill and liquid form, for safe disposal. This includes over-the-counter as well as prescription drugs. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. If you can't make the event there is a drug drop box located in the lobby of the Police Administration building, 1161 SW Wilshire Blvd. The box is available to the public Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
