    With the opportunity to begin a new garbage and recycling contract in June 2019, city leaders are interested in hearing what our citizens think about everything from 95-gallon carts to curbside special trash collection to recycling collection. Customers will also be able to speak to staff about the solid waste contract at several Town Hall meetings. Schedule of meetings are below.     Join us for Burleson's signature summer event, Hot Sounds of Summer Concert Series. All concerts are held in Old Town Burleson at the corner of Ellison and Wilson Street. Bring your own chairs, blankets and picnic or eat at one of the restaurants in Old Town.

  4. Paw Pals Animal Care Academy

    Burleson Animal Services is proud to offer the Paw Pals Animal Care Academy, a free educational program for area youth interested in animal welfare. This academy is on Saturdays, in June 2018, including June 2, 16, 23 and 30. (no class will be held June 9) The shelter is hosting the academy for students who are entering the 6th grade in the 2018/2019 school year. The class is limited to 15 students who must either live in Burleson or attend school in Burleson.

    What does it really take to be a firefighter? Your future fifth grader can discover that this summer when the Burleson Fire Department hosts two free four-day (8 a.m. - noon) Junior Fire Academy sessions in 2018. The deadline to apply is June 15. Junior Fire Academy is for students who are entering the fifth grade in the fall of 2018. Each academy is limited to 12 students. Participants receive their own bunker gear, tour the fire stations, and learn about disaster safety, extrication, fire safety, fire hydrants, fire hoses and ladders. The search and rescue training involves a maze (simulated dark conditions) in the training tower at Fire Station #2.
