  1. Fishing For Tales

    June 1, 2019, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Bailey Lake

June 1 is FREE Fishing day in the great State of Texas. What better way to celebrate than to bring your family to Bailey Lake Park and get an opportunity to fish with first responders from the area. No matter what age, you do not need a fishing license to fish this day. Come out and show your support for our first responders. Children 12 and under can enter in the Fishing Tales Competition. Everyone has heard an elaborate and eccentric fishing story that resulted in the largest fish every caught. In this competition children, with the assistance of the Burleson Librarians, will tell their fishing story and illustrate the fishing adventure they had.

  1. Historic Home Tours and Demonstrations

    June 1, 2019, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Russell Farm

The farm will host a variety of demonstrations each month from bread making to churning butter to fruit and veggie dehydration. Docents will tell stories of the families who lived here and demonstrate how the house grew from the original three-room home to the much larger home it is today. When visiting the Russell-Boren home, guests will understand how rural citizens of Burleson lived, worked and played in earlier years.
