The service and sacrifices of military veterans will be honored when the City of Burleson hosts the twelfth annual Military Veterans Tribute at Veterans Memorial Park at Renfro Square. We welcome Dave Roever this year as the guest speaker. Dave Roever is an American hero – a Vietnam veteran of solid character, and a recipient of the Purple Heart. A superb multi-generational communicator, Dave Roever travels the globe, speaking in state and national conventions, and public schools, and doing training for the US military. With engaging humor, he shares his gripping story, imparting hope in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. He exemplifies a life of triumph.

Saturdays, October 16-November 13, 10-11:30 a.m.
Play, learn and grow with your toddler (12-36 months) in an informal setting with other parents and toddlers. This event will have 5 Saturday sessions: October 16, October 23, October 30, November 6, and November 13.
Session topics include early literacy; speech, hearing and development; child development; nutrition; and music, play and movement. Someone who knows about each topic will be on hand to answer questions. Your child should be between 12 and 36 months at the time of the session. Siblings under the age of 5 may attend with the registered child and parent(s) or caregiver.
Join fellow artists at Russell Farm Art Center with Tom Sale, Hill College art professor, each Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon for free and open-to-all studio art time. Each week features a different theme and artists must provide their own materials for sketching or painting. On November 13, we will be treating paper for backgrounds. This multimedia study will focus on treating paper with subtle background colors with paints and collage for later drawings.
Santa's Workshop is here just in time for you to make one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts! Make three clay ornaments with choices from the following: a donkey to represent our sweet farm donkeys, Joey, Sadie, or Jed; chicken; star; or barn. The workshops are designed with participants ages 13 and up in mind, but younger kids can come, too, and must be accompanied by an adult if 12 or under.
