- Public Safety Recruit Salary: $65,128.68
- Police Officer: Salary Range: $75,000 (Year 1) - $95,007.76 (Year 9)
- Lateral Transfer Starting Salary is based on years of experience
2 - 3 years of experience: $77,250
4 - 5 years of experience: $79,567.50
6 - 7 years of experience: $81,954.53
8 - 9 years of experience: $84,413.16

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Non-Certified Public Safety Recruit: At least 30 hours of college from an accredited college or university
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certified: At least 30 hours of college from an accredited college or university, or 2 years of full-time paid police experience in Texas.
- Veterans: College credits waived for military experience.

All applicants are required to successfully complete each phase of the selection process. The entire process takes approximately two months. Each candidate will be advised of their status and application test dates as they move through the various steps.
