    Be Healthy Burleson is hosting FREE community workouts starting on June 11, 2016 and ending November 19th, 2016. Come enjoy 24 weeks of community workouts sponsored by City Market Burleson, Intensity Training Systems, C3 Cryo Club, Texas Health Burleson Fitness Center, and Camp Gladiator Burleson! When: Every Saturday morning from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. ***Arrive at 7:15 a.m. to register*** Where: City Hall Parking Lot (141 W. City of Burleson Events Calendar

  1. Free chest-compression only CPR class

    September 24, 2016, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Fire Station 1

    Do you want to learn the basics of how to save a life? The Burleson Fire Department is hosting free public CPR classes, once a month, in 2016. The three-hour classes will start at 9 a.m. and take place at Fire Station #1, 828 S.W. Alsbury Blvd. The class is a free public education class in chest compression only CPR. This is only a public education class. No CPR card is issued. Firefighters will also discuss and demonstrate the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator), explain the fire department’s mission, host a question/answer session, and give a tour of Fire Station #1. Classes are on Saturdays – Sept. 24, Oct. 22; Nov. 19, and Dec. 3. To sign up for the class, call Kristie Menchaca at 817-426-9176.

    “Inside Out” centers around Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

We know caregiving is stressful and we are offering the proven Stress-Busting Program™ for Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers. The Stress Busting Program™ teaches: Stress Management Techniques Relaxation and Coping Strategies Problem Solving and Support For more information and to register please contact the James L. West Center at 817-877-1199. Registration is Required. The Stress-Busting Program™ is available at no cost and meets for 9 weeks in a small group setting. The program is designed to improve the quality of life of family caregivers, and help caregivers manage their stress and cope better with their lives. Program provided by the James L.
