FY 2026-27 Budget Calendar

  • February 6 - March 6, 2026- Community Budget Priority Survey Opened

Below is the proposed budget calendar, dates and discussion items are subject to change. 

  • May 27: The Finance Committee will review the Equipment Replacement Funds proposal for purchase, the updated capital improvement program, review the city's debt service plan and have a tax rate discussion.
  • June 1: City Council will review the equipment replacement funds, the Five Year Forecast of major funds, the updated capital improvement program, the city's fee schedules, debt service plan, the community budget survey results and the tax rate and calendar.
  • June 15: City Council Meeting for additional budget discussions. 
  • July 15: Finance Committee Meeting to review the city manager's recommended supplementals and  reductions, along with the fee schedule.
  • July 20: City Council Meeting to continue budget discussions. 
  • August 3: City Council Meeting to continue budget discussions.
  • August 5: Finance Committee to review TNT Calculation of rates and city manager's proposed budget presentation. 
  • August 10: Special City Council Meeting for a budget work session. 
  • August 17: 4A/4B/TIF Boards will receive presentations for their respective budgets. 
  • September 8: City Council Meeting - Budget public hearing will be held and the first reading of the proposed budget and tax rate. 
  • September 14: Special City Council Meeting - Second reading of budget ordinances, adoption of budget and tax rate, other budget related items as needed.
