Burleson, Texas – On December 7, 2025, at approximately 11:33 p.m., Burleson Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot at Bailey Lake.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 17-year-old male in the driver seat of a vehicle with multiple apparent gunshot wounds. Officers and paramedics initiated life-saving measures at the scene. The victim was transported by fire department personnel to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
A second 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the leg was also located and transported to another area hospital for treatment.
Based on preliminary information obtained during the investigation, including a statement from the surviving victim, the incident appears to have occurred during a narcotics transaction involving three suspects.
Officers and detectives quickly developed information leading to the identification of two of the three suspects. One 17-year-old suspect was located in a vehicle parked at his residential driveway in Burleson, where he was taken into custody.
The detained suspect was interviewed by detectives and provided a statement admitting involvement in the shooting. Based on the evidence gathered, he was arrested on suspicion of Capital Murder and Aggravated Robbery and transported to the Johnson County Law Enforcement Center.
The second identified suspect and a third, still-unidentified suspect remain outstanding. Their names and any additional identifying details are not being released at this time to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
At this stage of the investigation, detectives believe this was an isolated incident related to criminal activity between the involved parties. There is no specific information at this time to indicate an ongoing threat to the general public.
