Dangerous cold will continue into Tuesday. An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect through Tuesday morning as wind chills may drop to as cold as -11°F. Actual air temperatures will be in the single digits Sunday night. This cold can kill if exposed for a long duration. Pack extra blankets in the car if travelling. Protect outdoor pipes and bring pets inside.
Another round of wintry precipitation is expected this afternoon through the overnight hours. Additional sleet accumulations of 2 to 3 inches are expected northwest of the Metroplex while accumulations will be lighter to the south. Freezing rain may result in ice accumulations up to 1/4 inch across parts of Central Texas.
