The Burleson Police Department extends its heartfelt sympathy to the victims and families affected by the tragic shooting at Bailey Lake on December 7. This type of violent activity is not welcomed in our community and does not reflect who we are as a city.
Thanks to the swift, aggressive, and exceptional work of BPD officers and detectives, four suspects connected to the case have now been taken into custody. Detectives worked around the clock, following leads within hours of the incident, and their determination led to quick identification and arrest of those believed to be involved.
- Wyatt Lynn Jacobs, of Burleson, was arrested within hours of the shooting and has been charged with Capital Murder with Robbery and Aggravated Robbery. His bond is set at $1.2 million.
- Joel Fabian Garcia, of Fort Worth, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Murder. His bond is $1.25 million.
- Julio Adan Duarte, of Burleson, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Murder. His bond is $1.25 million.
- Gustavo Gil Jr., of Alvarado, was arrested yesterday, December 11, and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. His bond has not yet been posted.
All four suspects are being held at the Johnson County Jail.
