The Burleson Public Library has been named a recipient of the 2025 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award by the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA).
The statewide award recognizes public libraries that demonstrate outstanding service in key areas including literacy support, digital inclusion, workforce development, innovative programming, professional staff development and community collaboration.
Only 101 of Texas’ 545 public libraries received the recognition, placing the Burleson Public Library in the top 18 percent statewide.
“This award reflects the dedication of our library staff and their commitment to serving the Burleson community with excellence,” said Sara Miller, Library Deputy Director. “We are proud to be recognized among the top libraries in Texas and will continue working to expand services and opportunities for residents of all ages.”
The Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award highlights libraries that go beyond traditional services to create innovative programs and partnerships that strengthen their communities. The Burleson Public Library has continued to support community needs through educational resources, technology access, workforce support and engaging programming for children, teens and adults.
The recognition also aligns with one of the city of Burleson’s core values, Excellence, reinforcing the city’s commitment to delivering high-quality public service.
