Burleson Veterans History Project

Preserving the History of Our Veterans
What better way to learn about history than to hear it from the ones who lived it. For this reason, the City of Burleson has laid the groundwork for the Burleson Veterans History Project linked to the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project.

In 2003, local military veterans and members of the Burleson Heritage Foundation started compiling an oral history by interviewing veterans and recording those conversations to videotape. The City of Burleson in conjunction with the Burleson Heritage Foundation will continue these efforts.

A field kit explaining the project, a registration form, and a copy of the questions that will be asked during an interview is available through the Burleson Public Library. Call Kerry Montgomery at 817-426-9206 to schedule an interview or to obtain additional information about the Veterans History Project.
