Environmental Preservation
The Parks and Recreation Department has committed to the conservation and stewardship of parkland, water, and natural resources.
Parks and public lands serve an essential role in preserving natural resources and wildlife habitats, protecting clean water and clean air, and providing open space for current and future generations. Parks provide an essential connection to the outdoors for people of all ages and abilities.
As the largest source of open space land in the country, parks and public lands are critical to the quality of life for our community. Clean, green, and accessible parks and open spaces improve the quality of life for all in Burleson.
Dedicated Natural & Wildflower Areas
The Parks and Recreation Department identified locations throughout the parks system to establish natural and wildflower areas. There are over 17 park areas totaling 190 acres of dedicated land with wildflower, prairie grass and natural areas.
