CR 1020/Alsbury Blvd & SW Hulen Street Construction Project

Design has begun on three voter-approved 2022 bond projects. 

The projects include:

  1. Intersection improvements at Wilshire Blvd and Hulen Street
  2. Widening of Hulen Street from two to four lanes, from Wilshire Blvd to Candler Drive
  3. Improving Alsbury Blvd/CR 1020 from CR 914 to Hulen Street

On November 13, 2024, city staff hosted a public input meeting on the projects. Below is the schematic drawings of the projects that were displayed at the meeting. 

SW Hulen Street Project Details

  • Three northbound lanes, three southbound lanes, dual left turn lanes and one right-turn lane at SH 174 (Wilshire Blvd) intersection
  • Hulen Street expansion from two lanes to four-six lanes within ultimate six-lane right-of-way
  • 10 foot shared use path on each side of the street
  • 16 inch waterline and sewer extensions
  • Adding a traffic light to the Candler and Hulen intersection

Project Timeline
Design and right-of-way acquisition through October 2025, with and estimated construction start in February 2026.

CR 1020/Alsbury Boulevard Project Details

  • Construction of two lanes of Alsbury Boulevard (CR 1020), within the ultimate four-lane right-of-way, from the Hulen roundabout to CR 914
  • 10 foot shared use path on each side of the street

Project Timeline
Schematic design and Environmental Clearance through Fall 2027, followed by Right-of-Way and Easement Acquisation.
