WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17 Evening Update
FROZEN AND BURST PIPES As temperatures begin to rise, it is possible that many residents will see pipes burst. To help with this situation, if you are a resident of Burleson and do not currently have water right now, please turn it off at the main disconnect. See the graphic below or watch this video to learn how to turn it off.
If you are not able to turn the water off at the street yourself, then call 682-312-2780 Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
If you have an emergency with a broken pipe and water is entering your home, call 817-426-9903.
CITY FACILITIES CLOSED Thursday, February 18.
TRASH AND RECYCLING will not run on Thursday, February 18. Bulk trash will not be collected this week. It hopefully will be collected next week. When trash service does resume, it will take multiple days to get caught up. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.
DO NOT VENTURE OUT ON FROZEN PONDS We have been made aware of several children that have ventured out on frozen ponds. We cannot tell you what a TERRIBLE idea this is. The ice is incredibly unstable and dangerous. Beyond that, our public safety is not equipped to make ice water rescues, and if you fall through, hypothermia will happen almost immediately. Please tell your children not to do this.
WATER BOIL Johnson County Special Utility District has released a map that shows what customers need to boil their water. It does not affect everyone. View the map here
TRAFFIC SIGNALS some traffic signals are going out as part of the rolling brownouts. Please treat these as four-way stops.
