[ARCHIVED] Extreme Cold Weather Conditions headed to Burleson

Temperatures will drop into the teens on Sunday, January 14 – Monday, January 15. The city would like to inform the public of the city’s local warming center that will be open Sunday, January 14 – Monday, January 15, for vulnerable populations.

Warming Stations
The Burleson Recreation Center (BRiCk) will be open and can be utilized as warming stations during normal business hours. You do not need to be a member of the BRiCk to utilize the warming station.

BRiCk, 550 NW Summercrest Blvd
Sunday, January 14: Noon – 6 p.m. 
Monday, January 15: 4:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. 

It is important to note this location is not an overnight shelter.

  • Tarrant County will offer cold weather shelter at existing emergency shelters located at Union Gospel Mission (1321 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth), Presbyterian Night Shelter (2400 Cypress, Fort Worth), or The Salvation Army Mabee Center (1855 E. Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth).

If large portions of the community lose power during the extreme cold weather or if conditions worsen, the city will enact the prepared emergency plan and evaluate opening additional warming stations, extending warming station hours or opening an overnight shelter. Updates and information will be available on the city's website, www.burlesontx.com and social media accounts.
