[ARCHIVED] City of Burleson Announces Changes to Utility Bill Payment Portal

new payment portal

The city of Burleson is making important updates to its utility billing payment system to provide residents with a more streamlined and convenient experience. These changes will affect how residents make payments and manage their accounts.

What’s Changing?

Starting now, the city’s payment portal is transitioning to Tyler Municipal Online Payments, a platform designed to enhance functionality and simplify account management.

Action Required for Automatic Payment Users

Residents with existing automatic payments must take action to ensure uninterrupted service. Residents with existing automatic payments set up are being notified via email that their account will be affected. To continue automatic drafts:

  1. Visit www.burlesontx.com/payonline.
  2. Click “Sign in/Register” in the top right corner to create a new profile.

Key Information:

  • Processing Fees: Debit and credit card payments will now include a processing fee.
  • Free Payment Options: Automatic bank drafts and electronic checks remain free of charge. To set up bank drafts, visit www.burlesontx.com/bankdraft.

Timeline

  • Start Now: Residents can begin creating profiles, making payments, and signing up for autopay immediately.
  • Deadline: Existing automatic payments will no longer process after January 1, 2025, unless a new account is established.

Why the Change?

This update is part of a larger utility billing software upgrade initiated in April 2024. The new system consolidates functions previously spread across two portals, allowing users to:

  • View account details
  • Make payments
  • Set up automatic drafts
  • Track utility usage

These enhancements aim to improve convenience for residents and modernize the city’s utility billing services.
