[ARCHIVED] City Provides FAQs on Proposed Solid Waste and Recycling Service Updates

Solid Waste FAQs 2025

The City of Burleson has received numerous questions regarding potential changes to solid waste and recycling services. To clarify, no changes have been implemented at this time.

On January 6, 2025, city council reviewed proposed updates to the contract with Waste Connections. While there was a consensus to move forward, the city must finalize the agreement and present it to council for final approval before any updates take effect.

To help answer residents' and business owners' questions, the city has published detailed FAQ documents:

The city understands concerns about weekly trash collection under the proposed changes. Please know that residents would still have weekly collection of a 95-gallon cart, plus collection of up to six additional trash bags placed beside it, as part of the weekly small bulk and brush pickup service.

The City of Burleson remains committed to keeping residents informed and answering any questions throughout this process.
