[ARCHIVED] Weather Update for BTX Honey Tour Carnival Opening Night

BTX Honey Tour Carnival Weather Watch and What You Should Know

The BTX Honey Tour Carnival kicks off tonight, Thursday, May 22, in Old Town. While skies are currently clear, there is a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Here’s what you need to know:

  • In the event of a thunderstorm warning, city staff will work closely with carnival organizers to shut down appropriate rides and ensure the safety of all attendees. The city’s Emergency Operations Center is active, and staff are monitoring weather conditions closely.
  • If light rain occurs, most rides will continue to operate, but the carousel and other large rides may be paused. These rides will not operate if lightning is present.
  • Tickets purchased for food or rides are valid through the remainder of the carnival, which runs through Sunday. However, please note that ride wristbands purchased for Thursday are only valid for that day. If the event closes due to weather, no refunds will be issued for wristbands, and they cannot be used on other days.
