The Burleson Public Library has officially received accreditation from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission for fiscal year 2026, continuing its longstanding commitment to high-quality service and community enrichment.
To earn accreditation, the library must meet rigorous statewide standards for services, collections, staffing and budget. Accreditation not only opens the door to vital statewide programs — such as interlibrary loan, TexShare cards and databases, and access to Collaborative Summer Library Program materials — but also qualifies the library for state grant funding.
Over the past five years, Burleson Public Library has received multiple competitive grant awards that have directly enhanced its services, including:
- 2024: Library Cooperative Grant ($75,000, MetroShare Libraries)
- 2023: Library Cooperative Grant ($74,000, MetroShare Libraries)
- 2022: Library Cooperative Grant ($75,000, MetroShare Libraries)
- 2022: Community Advancement Package Grant ($7,535)
- 2020: TexTreasures Grant ($25,000)
This recognition strengthens the library’s ability to deliver quality programs, grow its collections and serve the diverse needs of the Burleson community.
