As we prepare to celebrate the holiday season, the City of Burleson would like to share the following information about facility closures and trash and recycling service changes for Christmas and New Year’s:
Trash & Recycling Service Reminders
- No trash or recycling collection will occur on Thursday, Dec. 25 or Thursday, Jan. 1.
- Monday/Thursday customers will have service on Monday, Dec. 29 and Monday, Jan. 5.
- Thursday recycling customers will have service on Saturday, Dec. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 3.
We understand that this year’s holiday schedule is inconvenient for residents on the Monday/Thursday route, as all three major holidays fall on a Thursday. We wanted to share that this is an uncommon occurrence and will not happen again for several years. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this holiday season.
High Volume Delays Possible
Due to increased waste during the holidays, collection delays may occur on:
- Friday, Dec. 26
- Monday, Dec. 29
- Friday, Jan. 2
- Monday, Jan. 5
Some routes may be completed in the afternoon or early Saturday morning. Please place your carts at the curb by 7 a.m. and leave them out until collected. All routes will be completed.
City Facility Closures
New Year’s Eve – Wednesday, Dec. 31
Open: All facilities open, some with adjusted hours:
- City Hall: Regular hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- BRiCk: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Library: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Animal Shelter: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Hidden Creek Golf Course: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Russell Farm: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Senior Activity Center: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Municipal Court: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
New Year’s Day – Thursday, Jan. 1
Closed: City Hall, Library, Senior Activity Center, Animal Shelter, BRiCk, Russell Farm, Municipal Court
Open: Hidden Creek Golf Course (7 a.m.–5:30 p.m.), Public Safety (24/7)
