[ARCHIVED] Jan. 24 Evening Update: Non-essential facility closures, warming station updates and more

The city of Burleson continues to monitor weather conditions and utility impacts as winter weather moves through the area.

At this time, the city is not aware of any power outages within Burleson. Public Safety Communications will continue monitoring regional outage maps throughout the night, and city leadership will conduct additional outage checks overnight and into the early morning hours.

Due to weather conditions, the city will close non-essential facilities on Sunday, Jan. 25. The Burleson Recreation Center (BRiCk) and the Hidden Creek Golf Course Pro Shop and Restaurant would have been the only city facilities open.

If power outages occur and are expected to last longer than six hours, the city is prepared to open warming centers to support affected residents. To ensure timely assistance, warming centers would be activated before the six-hour threshold is reached if an extended outage is anticipated.

For example, if an outage were to begin at 3 a.m. and is expected to last more than six hours, warming center operations would be initiated before 9 a.m. or earlier, as conditions warrant.

The city will continue to monitor conditions closely and adjust operations as needed to ensure public safety. Residents are encouraged to stay informed by visiting www.burlesontx.com/winterweather for the latest updates, including facility closures, service impacts and warming station information.
