Immediate Sheltering Needs
If you or someone you know in the Burleson community needs immediate shelter assistance, including overnight, please contact non-emergency dispatch at 817-426-9903. For life-threatening emergencies, dial 911.

Warming Station Update
The city of Burleson continues to monitor weather conditions and utility impacts as the extreme cold impacts our area. At this time, the city is not aware of any power outages within Burleson.

Public Safety Communications will continue monitoring regional outage maps overnight, and city leadership will conduct additional checks into the early morning hours.

The city will continue to monitor conditions closely and open warming station as needed.

Roads
Public Works crews continue efforts to treat and clear major roadways throughout the city. Please note that residential streets will not be treated.

Slush remaining from Monday is expected to refreeze Tuesday night, creating dangerous and often invisible patches of ice. Drivers are strongly encouraged to stay off the roads if possible. If travel is necessary on Tuesday, please use extreme caution and watch for black ice, especially on bridges, overpasses and shaded areas, which may remain hazardous even with some afternoon thawing.

If you must drive:

  • Reduce speed significantly, ideally under 45 mph
  • Increase following distance to three times normal
  • Avoid using cruise control
  • Stay alert for downed power lines or abandoned vehicles

Pipes
As temperatures start to climb, frozen pipes can thaw and burst, which means water damage can show up fast.

If you discover a busted pipe:

  • Shut off your water if you can
  • During business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), contact BTX 311 by calling 817-426-9600 or 311 within the city limits
  • After hours, call non-emergency dispatch at 817-426-9903
  • If there’s an immediate safety concern, call 911
