Patrol Section

Overview & Duties

The Patrol Section is under the Operations Bureau and has a total of 35 authorized patrol positions.  The Patrol Section is responsible for the protection of life and property and serves a population of approximately 42,280 citizens within a 26-square mile suburban and rural area.  
 

Partnerships With Citizens


Patrol is committed to developing partnerships with the citizens and strives to work together to solve problems throughout the community. Other duties include answering calls for service, warrant service, vacation/business checks, and directive patrols. Although traffic enforcement is not the section's primary duties, patrol officers also conduct traffic stops and respond to crashes when the traffic officers are not available.
